PlayBox Technology reports a very successful BVE with a record number of visitors. The stand attracted interest from a wide range of broadcasters including all the major companies from the UK and many from abroad.
It was not so long ago that a broadcaster’s Master Control Room comprised rows and rows of tall racks, packed with costly professional high-tech heat generating equipment that needed equal power to cool. This was in the heyday of dedicated hardware with each box doing its own thing: VTRs, Mixers, Still Stores, CG, Logo Generators, DSK, DA’s and many more. These were connected via the video router and orchestrated by, perhaps the only bit of IT equipment, the automation system.

PlayBox Technology Asia Pacific, has participated in the FG-ABU Digital Broadcasting Conference in Yangon, Myanmar for a second year. The event took place 19-21 November and proved to be the right place to meet broadcasters not only from Myanmar but also from the whole Asia Pacific region.

StarTimes, based in Beijing, China, has installed 12 PlayBox Technology servers at NTA, the Nigerian Television Authority in Lagos. These are used to broadcast six Chinese channels into Nigeria via a DTH platform.
PlayBox Technology has supplied two AirBox playout and automation servers to London-based broadcaster OHTV. These add to OHTV’s existing channels, also supported with PlayBox Technology severs, as the broadcaster continues to expand its operations.
PlayBox Technology has supplied two playout channels to ViewSat, a leading provider of global broadcast and transmission services for television and radio channels. This brings the total of PlayBox Technology channels operating at ViewSat to 25 and continues a long relationship between the two companies.
The Paley Center for Media in New York City has an international collection of nearly 150,000 programmes covering almost 100 years of television and radio history, including news, public affairs programs and documentaries, performing arts programs, children's programming, sports, comedy and variety shows and commercial advertising.
