PlayBox Technology Asia Pacific, has participated in the FG-ABU Digital Broadcasting Conference in Yangon, Myanmar for a second year. The event took place 19-21 November and proved to be the right place to meet broadcasters not only from Myanmar but also from the whole Asia Pacific region.
The event comprised two days of workshops and one of conferences. KC Lee, Regional Sales Manager, PlayBox Technology Asia Pacific, was a conference speaker and he demonstrated the advantages of file-based workflows over legacy systems. He illustrated these with two proven solutions - AirBox and TitleBox. The combination of these is used for the on-air playout of various formats, including mixed formats, complete with powerful CG and graphics insertion for eye-catching dynamic on-air presentation.
Another event highlight was the demonstration of AirBox Multi Parallel Output (MPO), which enables running two, or more, outputs so that broadcasters can easily provide parallel outputs in any combination of formats. These can include HD-SDI, SD-SDI (with realtime rescaling) and IP streaming, or for example, outputting H.264 (MPEG-4) and MPEG-2 at the same time. Mr. Lee demonstrated how MPO can be used to control and monitor the channel playout via the Internet from a standard tablet computer.
Over 100 participants and broadcasters attended the event. These were from the neighbouring Asia pacific region including Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia and more.
