BVE 2011 pressed all the right buttons at PlayBox Technology, with the volume and quality of the stand traffic the best yet for this exhibition, the company’s third attendance at the show. At 30 square metres the stand, and the number of staff manning it, were both the biggest ever for the company at BVE. Sales Director, Ben Gunkel comments, “The expansion proved to be well justified by the quality and quantity of the visitors we had at the stand.”
The full range of modular products that make up ‘channel-in-a-box’ playout solutions were on show; complete with the people to demonstrate them. The busiest area turned out to be the PlayBox MAM presentation. It was in demand throughout the show hours and, sometimes, a little over! Scott Adams, Broadcast Systems Group Manager says, “People know that we can provide good playout, graphics and more. Now they are turning their minds to wider areas, such as workflow management. Today customers are also looking for systems that integrate, work well and reliably, and are offered at keen prices. Getting all that right is a tall order, but that’s where we are scoring.”
The heaviest traffic was on the middle show day, but the whole event was busy from an hour after the start on day one – right to the end. Visitors included many new faces as well as established customers. They tended to spend a considerable time on the stand with many taking the opportunity to get a comprehensive understanding of workflows, as well as watching the detailed demonstrations.
Dave Tonge, UK Sales Manager is already planning for next year. “This show worked really well for us. We put more into in and we got more out, so we are looking to do still more at BVE 2012.”
